A lot of us have heard of Entrecims; it’s time to know everything about the greatest addition of Roures in this 7h edition.
Meet Entrecims, a route of 210km with about 12000 meters of vertical gain born from the union of the 10 more emblematic peaks of the zone, classified as “100 cims FEEC”: Tossal Gros (nas del Gegant), La Cogulla (Miramar), Puigcabrer, Mola d’Estats, Tossal de la Baltasana, Roca Corbatera, la Cogulla (Montsant), Picorandan, Puig Pelat and Puig del Gallicant. The track that binds those peaks not only crosses the Poblet Natural Place of National Interest and the Natural Park of Montsant, but takes care of each one of the nooks, degrees and trails where it passes; the result is an exigent challenge, technical and with aerial paths rise up to the capabilities of a very few runners.
The Entrecims format is a non competitive race, without marks, where the navigation with GPS, map or race book are one of the strong points. During the crossing you will not get aid stations, but 4 life bases with plenty of services, as a opportunity to sleep, take a shower, rest, get life bags…
The assistance is allowed during all the track and the life bases, to ease it the crew or followers will know your location in real time thanks to a GPS transmitter that all participants will carry; this adds security and control by the race direction that can catch navigation mistakes and warn the runner.
In this first edition with a maximum of 30 runners, to take care each detail and make Entrecims a familiar and close adventure, will take start on Thursday 22th and will have a maximum of 70 hours to complete the challenging track.
